Regular Obedience Judging Application

A provisional judge may request regular status once they receive two satisfactory regular class observations, one within the year prior to the request for regular status and completed the judging of ten relevant regular class assignments. (Regular Novice, Regular Open, Regular Utility) with a minimum of one hundred total dogs judged overall. The 100-dog count may include dogs judged in the relevant and optional titling classes as listed below:

Novice: Regular Novice, Preferred Novice, Beginner Novice, and Graduate Novice

Open: Regular Open, Preferred Open, Graduate Novice, and Graduate Open

Utility: Regular Utility, Preferred Utility, Graduate Open, and Versatility

(Please note that judges must complete the AKC Obedience Judges' Education requirements every three-years and may be ineligible to accept assignments if this requirement is not met.)

I certify that I understand and acknowledge that if I am charged with cruelty, inhumane treatment of animals, or similar offenses involving inhumane or cruel treatment of dogs, or charged with any crime involving moral turpitude, especially as it concerns dog-related activities, the AKC may temporarily place my judging privileges on referral while the charges are pending. Further, after receiving notification of the referral, I am prevented from judging or from accepting assignments to judge. When the charges are resolved and AKC's inquiry into the matter determines that no action will be taken by the AKC to cause a suspension of my judging privileges, the temporary judging referral will be removed.
